Week 6 Six-Man Stand Outs
More and more teams are submitting stats and list weeks list is longer than ever and I’m encouraging all coaches to submit every week so the list will just keep on growing!  Here are some of last week’s standout performances around the state in six-man football.  Top Performances are published every Wednesday and if you would like to send in stats you can email them to me at leman.saunders@gmail.com

Thank You Coaches for Submitting Your Stats!

Tristen Hayes – Crowell – 30-48-2 for 531 yards 9 TDs passing
Tristen Hayes continues his passing assault as his 531 yards in week 6 against a highly ranked Valley lands him at the #3 spot on the all-time list of passing yards in a single game for a six-man player.  He found brother Skyler with a minute left in the game that gave Crowell the 84-80 lead and ultimately the win.  Tristen has amassed a season stat line of 127-214-4 for 2,232 yards 42 TDs passing.

Walker Tippie – Richland Springs – 8 carries 231 yards 2 TDs rushing; 6-7-0 for 50 yards 3 TDs passing; 1 catch 69 yards 1 TD receiving; 9 tackles

In what was a match up that featured the D2 #1 team vs the D1 #3 team, Tippie had a hand in 6 of his team’s 7 touchdowns in their big statement 48-0 win over Sterling City.  He averaged an amazing 28.8 yards a carry running the ball.

Arron Luna – Marfa – 20 carries 333 yards 6 TDs rushing; 6 tackles, 3 INTs 1 returned for a TD

Luna lead all rushers this week with 333 yards on the ground in Marfa’s 80-30 win over Fort Hancock.  Luna season rushing stat line is 71 carries 969 yards with 20 TDs.  His 3 INTs, returning 1 for a TD, were also huge in their big win in week 6.

Cristian Granados – Walnut Springs – 8/8 kicking PATs; 9-19-1 for 152 yards 1 TD passing; 3 catches 46 yards 1 TD receiving; 4 carries 24 yards rushing; 6 tackles, 1 INT, 1 fumble recovery

While Granados passed for over 150 yards and a TD, caught a TD pass and forced 2 turnovers on the defensive side of the ball, it was his perfect 8 for 8 kicking PATs that were instrumental in Walnut Springs’ 2 point win over Avalon (who were 7 for 9 as a team with their PATs).  Cristian is 25/27 kicking PATs this season.

Phoenix Burns – Brookesmith – 14 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery returned 29 yards for TD; 1 catch 50 yards 1 TD receiving

Burns was big on defense in Brookesmith’s 69-50 win over Paint Rock, he was in on 14 tackles, forced a fumble, and scooped up a fumble and took it all the way back for a touchdown…and also added 1 catch for a 50 yards TD as well on offense for good measure.

High Island’s Running Game – 4 players with over 100 yards rushing each, combined for 12 TDs on just 23 carries

In their crazy 123-76 win over Nueces Canyon the Cardinal’s did their fair share of spreading the offensive wealth as they had 4 players with over 100 yards rushing; Zach Bronkhorst, Brandon Marvin, Brandon Guidry and Kole Rodriguez combined for a 23 carries 481 yards and 12 TDs stat line on the ground alone.

Wilson's Running Game - 3 players over 100 yards rushing each, combined for 459 yards and 7 TDs on 28 carries

In a tough 66-55 loss to Plainview Christian, Wilson's running game was on point; Lance Lopez 15-173, 3 TDs; Bailey Steen 11-162, 2 TDs; and freshman Tony Pantoja 2-124, 2 TDs!
