Sixman Standouts - Week 1

Outstanding performances from Week 1 of Sixman Football: 

Week 1 was a week that had a little bit of everything…with some close games, some upsets, and some blowouts.  It also produced some great performances from some outstanding athletes!  With limited participation and resources so early in the season, here is a look at some of the standouts across the state in Six-Man football…

Tristen Hayes – Crowell – 27-42-0 for 460 yards and 10 TDs passing
With an unbelievable stat line, Tristen lead his team to a huge win in a battle of highly ranked teams beating Guthrie 78-61.

Jaquan Thompson – Calvert – 16-23 for 329 yards and 6 TDs passing; 11 carries for 216 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 9 tackles, 1 fumble recovery
Thompson did it all and made spectacular plays all night for the Trojans as they fought with TAPPS DI defending Champs Houston-Emery Weiner 85-65

Riley Eggemeyer – Garden City – 3-4-0 for 100 yards and 2 TDs passing; 17 carries for 132 yards and 2 TDs rushing; 8 catches for 119 yards and 2 TDs receiving
Eggemeyer was all over the place and rack up over 100 yards passing, rushing and receiving…a truly rare feat…and had a hand in 6 TDs as Garden City beat Austin Veritas 62-16.

Landon Roberts – Guthrie – 28 carries for 261 yards and 4 TDs rushing; 2 catches for 62 yards and 2 TDs receiving; 9 tackles
Roberts fought hard for every single one of his 323 total yards in the 78-61 loss to Crowell in a battle of top ranked teams.

Kaleb Naceanceno – Silverton – 16 carries for 218 yards and 5 TDs rushing; 9 catches for 155 yards and 4 TDs receiving; 60 yards KO return for TD; 7 tackles and 1 INT on defense
Silverton beat Miami 85-46 and Kaleb Naceanceno proved himself to be a jack of all trades and a scoring machine as he scored a total of 10 TDs.

Zach Bronkhorst – High Island – 15-22 for 270 yards and 3 TDs passing; 3 carries for 62 yards and 1 TD rushing; 1 catch for 9 yards and 1 TD
Another all around effort from a six-man player was Zach Bronkhorst of High Island as he had a hand in 5 TDs in a 62-46 win over San Marcos Hill country Christian.

TaRon Smith – Milford – 13-20-1 for 198 yards and 3 TDs; 11 carries for 46 yards and 1 TD rushing; 1 catch for 16 yards receiving

Karson Bryan – Happy – 5-9-0 for 191 yards and 3 TDs passing; 22 carries for 203 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 1 catch for 20 yards receiving; 78 yard KO return for a TD; 6 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries

Kellen Everett – Cherokee – 6-10-1 for 190 yards and 3 TDs passing; 7 carries for 41 yards and 1 TD rushing; 8.5 tackles

Taylor Boydston – Grady – 8-12-1 for 180 yards and 3 TDs passing; 11 carries for 31 yards and 1 TD rushing

Kason King – Zephyr – 4-7 for 61 yards and 4 TDs passing

Receiving:


Christian Luster – Calvert – 5 catches for 168 yards and 2 TDs receiving

Tyler Durham – Crowell – 8 catches for 166 yards and 4 TDs receiving; 11 tackles, 1 INT

Devynn Smith – Grady – 5 catches for 135 yards and 2 TDs receiving

Christian Abila – Knox City – 2 catches for 116 yards and 2 TDs receiving

Melvion Pimpton – Mt Calm – 4 catches for 112 yards and 2 TDs

Brandon Marvin – High Island – 7 catches for 106 yards and 1 TD receiving

MarKavion Thompson – Milford – 4 catches for 101 yards and 1 TD receiving

Jayton Walden – Happy – 3 catches for 96 yards and 1 TD receiving

Devin Williams – Zephyr – 4 catches for 61 yards and 4 TDs receiving

Rushing:

Booker Brasuel – Ira – 19 carries for 283 yards and 5 TDs rushing

Jaden Benavidez – O’Donnell – 24 carries for 245 yards and 3 TDs rushing

Abram Carlos – Hart – 237 yards and 4 TDs rushing; 69 yards passing

Brock Martin -- Whitharral -- 27 carries for 233 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 12.5 tackles 2 INTs 1 returned for a TD

Jayden Coleman – Klondike – 13 carries for 205 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 1 catch for 17 yards and 1 TD receiving

Tristan Garza – Petersburg – 9 carries for 193 yards and 5 TDs rushing

Ismael Herrera - Gorman - 17 carries for 183 yards and 2 TDs rushing

Nicholas Moody – Zephyr – 168 yards and 1 TD rushing

Tyler Spurgeon – Mt Calm – 13 carries for 164 yards and 2 TDs rushing

Carlos Villanueva – Strawn – 10 carries for 150 yards and 2 TDs rushing; 3-3-0 for 41 yards and 2 TDs passing

Levi Martinez – Newcastle – 16 carries for 147 yards and 1 TD rushing; 1 catch 15 yards receiving

Dax Allen – Valley – 5 carries for 142 yards and 3 TDs rushing

Hutton Lusty – Richland Springs – 2 carries for 135 yards and 2 TDs rushing

Garrett Bell- Gorman - 9 carries for 121 yards and 1 TD rushing; 13 tackles with 2 fumbles recovered

Special Teams:

Samuel Schnable – Knox City – 154 yards on 2 KO returns for 2 TDs; 7 carries for 20 yards and 1 TD rushing

Julian Fraga – Gordon – 138 yards on 2 KO returns for 2 TDs; 9 carries for 91 yards rushing; 2-3-1 for 42 yards passing

Defense:

Trent Padron- Gorman - 3 INTs, 1 returned 70 yds for a TD, 11 tackles, 1 forced fumble; 9-13 passing for 117 yards; 1 TD rushing

Joradn Lilly – Cherokee – 3 INTs for 87 total return yards and 1 returned for a TD, 4.5 tackles; 7 carries for 70 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 1 catch for 45 yards and 1 TD receiving; 1-2-0 for 5 yards and 1 TD passing

Lazaro Galindo – Southland – 18 tackles; 1 caused fumble

Zack Miller - Zephyr - 18 tackles

Demarcus Benson – Calvert – 16 tackles; 2 sacks (18 total tackles)

Kole Rodriguez – High Island – 15 tackles; 1 INT
