Week 9 Six-Man Top Performances:

Late getting this out, but here are some of Week 9's standout performances around the state in six-man football.  Top Performances are published every Wednesday and if you would like to send in stats you can email them to me at leman.saunders@gmail.com

Thank You Coaches for Submitting Your Stats!

Nick Godfrey – Aspermont – 12 catches 208 yards 7 TDs receiving; 13 tackles, 1 caused fumble
Godfrey had a huge game as he hauled in a season high for all of six-man 12 receptions and found the end zone 7 times setting a new six-man single game record (breaking the old record of 6 set by Trevor Dean of Leverett’s Chapel in 2008), he also had 13 tackles and forced a fumble on defense in Aspermont’s 69-22 win over Rule

Juan Diaz – Sands – 28 carries 268 yards 8 TDs rushing; 3 catches 75 yards 1 TD receiving; 13 tackles
8 rushing TDs is head turning for sure, Diaz also added a TD reception for good measure in a 72-26 win over Wellman-Union

Kason King – Zephyr – 3-3-0 for 136 yards 3 TDs passing
King only attempted 3 passes but all three found their mark and produced the same result…a touchdown for Zephyr as they win their district opener over Evant 66-16.  Equally impressive for the Bulldogs was RB Bishop Norman’s performance as he carried the ball just 4 times and found pay dirt 3 time gaining a total of 100 yards on the ground.

Eli Sauer – Highland – 6 carries 164 yards 4 TDs rushing; 2 tackles
In another excellent example of 6-man efficiency Sauer had just 6 carries in Highland’s 50-0 win over Trent he scored on 4 of those carries and racked up 164 rushing yards that’s an average of over 27 yards per carry.

Torrey Hoover – Coolidge – 26 carries 276 yards 5 TDs rushing; 3-3-0 for 24 yards 1 TD passing; 6 tackles
Hoover exploded to lead Cooldige for a big 69-22 district win over Aquilla and take command of their own destiny as far as playoffs are concerned.

Eli Garza – Hermleigh – 9 catches 191 yards 3 TDs receiving; 29 carries 195 yards 5 TDs rushing; 7 tackles, 1 INT
Garza scored 8 times for the Cardinals in a game where his QB Sorrells passed for 436 yards as well!  The duo help pave the way for a 76-68 district opener win over a tough O’Donnell team.

Zach Bronkhorst – High Island – 17 carries 316 yards 6 TDs rushing; 13-20-0 for 202 yards 6 TDs passing
