Six-Man Standouts Week 3

Outstanding Performances From Week 3 of Six-Man Football
By:  Leman Saunders

Week 3 gave us some exciting game with key performances; here are some that were sent in to me as well as more individual stats from week 3.  Coaches can submit game stats anytime before Wednesday night for consideration each week.  I do my best to include someone from every team that send in their weekly info.  Leman.saunders@gmail.com

Karson Bryan – Happy – 19 carries for 331 yards 8 TDs rushing; 7-9-1 for 195 yards 1 TD passing

What was billed as a top game in week 3 turned out to be a one-sided affair thanks in large part to Karson Bryan of the Cowboys who racked up 526 total yards of offense and had a hand in 9 TDs!

Jaquan Thompson – Calvert – 27-33 for 429 yards and 4 TDs passing; 11 carries for 155 yards and 3 TDs rushing; 14 tackles

Thompson once again makes a case for being the best player in six-man as he led his team from behind, 40-6 at one point, to take the lead with 7 seconds remaining in the game and beat the larger DI powerhouse Borden County 62-60.

Eli Garza – Hermleigh – 19 carries for 467 yards and 7 TDs rushing

In the best rushing yardage performance this week, Garza flirted with the 500 yard mark as he scored 7 TDs on the ground in a hard fought 64-52 win versus Leuders-Avoca.

Weston Cantrell – Abbott – 29 carries for 190 yards 3 TDs rushing; 2 INTs returned for 2 TDs, 3 tackles

Abbott had an outstanding performance from running back Cantrell as the Panthers bounce back from their rocky 0-2 start to log their first win of the season in a battle with Austin Hill Country 48-40.  Weston also picked off 2two passes on defense and returned them both for touchdowns!

Tristen Hayes – Crowell – 19-28 for 308 yards 6 TDs passing

Hayes continues to shred defenses with his arm, going over 300 yards once again this week with 6 TD passes in a game that was harder fought then anticipated against Knox City as Crowell won 66-32.

Fredrick Darnell – Calvert – 6 catches for 172 yards and 4 TDs receiving

Darnell might be the best offensive weapon in six-man that no one is talking about, with big receiver put up big yards and together with Thompson help Calvert upset Borden County.
