Six-Man Top Performances Week 4

Week 4 featured bad weather and barn burners!  Here are some of last week’s standout performances around the state in six-man football.  Top Performances are published every Wednesday and if you would like to send in stats you can email them to me at leman.saunders@gmail.com

Kody Gonzales – Whitharral – 22 carries for 146 yards 5 TD rushing; 3 catches for 76 yards 2 TDs receiving; 2-2-0 for 29 yards passing; 9 tackles

A player that had his hand in a little bit of everything last Friday night and managed to score the winning touchdown in overtime giving Whitharral the 81-75 win over Rule.

Devynn Smith – Grady – 21 tackles, 1 INT; 7-10-0 for 83 yards 3 TDs passing; 11 carries for 83 yards 1 TD rushing; 2 catches for 14 yards receiving

In what was a tied 8-8 defensive battle for 3 full quarters Smith lead his team in tackles and had an INT as well, and he had a hand in 4 or his team’s 5 touchdowns offensively as well as Grady beat Rankin 37-28.

Tristan Garza – Petersburg – 20 carries for 200 yards 7 TDs rushing; 1-3-0 for 34 yards passing; 14 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

In one of the best games of the week Garza averaged 10 yards a carry and scored 7 times on the ground, while holding it down on the defensive side as well in Petersburg’s 58-51 upset win over Guthrie.

Jalen Helms – Grandfalls-Royalty – 21-24 for 355 yards 4 TDs passing; 7 carries for 138 yards 2 TDs rushing

With his arm, and his legs, Jalen led the DII Cowboys to a convincing 66-34 win over DI Marfa.

Brandon Bartholow – Dallas Lakehill – 29 carries for 390 yards 6 TDs rushing

Brandon set a school record in rushing yards and had a huge hand in his team 51-50 overtime win against McKinney Cornerstone.

Jaden Benavidez – O’Donnell – 28 carries for 364 yards 7 TDs rushing; 7-8-0 for 94 yards 1 TD passing; 5 tackles

Jaden had over 450 yards of total offense and had a hand in 8 TDs as O’Donnell won their track meet 100-88 over Lubbock Home School.

Taron Smith – Milford – 20 carries for 349 yards 6 TDs rushing; 3-4-0 for 25 yards passing

Eli Garza – Hermleigh – 22 carries for 250 yards 4 TDs rushing; 20 yards 1 TD passing; 30 yards 1 TD receiving; 6 tackles

Kyle Garcia – Balmorhea – 29 carries for 245 yards 4 TDs; 9 tackles, 1 fumble recovery

Chase Thompson – Rule – 25 carries 240 yards 3 TDs rushing; 9-14-0 for 163 yards 3 TDs passing

Kason Vigil – White Deer – 20 carries for 233 yards 5 TDs rushing; 1-1-0 for 15 yards passing; 10 tackles, 1 sack

Gage Freeman – White Deer – 17 carries for 211 yards 3 TDs rushing; 6-6 for 131 yards 3 TDs passing; 6 tackles

Christian Sanchez – Southland – 23 carries 183 yards 4 TDs rushing; 2-3-0 for 55 yards passing

Jaquan Thompson – Calvert – 6 carries for 166 yards 3 TDs rushing; 5-9-0 for 152 yards 3 TDs passing; 8 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack, 1 INT
